We have completed our August maintenance downtime, and we appreciate everybody's patience while our systems were unavailable. During the maintenance, we accomplished critical upgrades to our HPC, storage systems, power, and networking infrastructures.
What does "pre-production" mean? It means the system is stable and deployed, but we haven't published documentation information on our website yet. We are are also still seeking feedback about both the usefulness and stability of the tool.
Due to the situation around COVID-19, we had to reschedule our maintenance, originally planned for May, 2020 to August, 2020. The situation is changing every day, but as of today, the maintenance is still scheduled for the week of August 3 - 7.
XSEDE will be conducting a HPC Workshop: Summer Boot Camp from June 2-5, 2020. Registration closes May 29 and at publication time, there are only 216 spots out of 500 left, so if you're interested be sure to register right away!
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the hardware maintenance that was previously scheduled for May 4 - 8 is postponed until at-least August. We have not determined specific dates yet, but we are targeting a one-week period sometime in-between the Summer and Fall semesters (August 3 - 21).
We are currently seeking beta testers for a new tool that we are testing, Open OnDemand, which provides easy web access to the HPC.
The Research Computing Center (RCC) at Florida State University (FSU) has an open position for the role of HPC Operations Manager. The Operations Manager leads the management, deployment, configuration and the operation of all computer facilities within RCC. This includes mentoring, training, and supervising a team of staff members assigned to HPC systems administration tasks as well as taking the lead on our devops environment.
We have developed a draft schedule for our Spring 2020 Maintenance which is scheduled to occur from Monday, May 4 to Friday, May 8.
Thanks mainly to the efforts of Mitch Gans, RCC has achieved the highest level "Gold" certification from the FSU Sustainable Campus Office.
Starting on Monday, May 4, we will bring down the HPC cluster to perform critical upgrades and other maintenance.
